Course Content

 

  1. Introduction to Design, Design Parameters specific to the UAV
    This will include all the practical aspects that need to be taken into account in designing of a UAV.
  2. Case study of Design Algorithms and Mission specific requirements
    This will cover the design of UAV with respect to the mission definition of the task required to be done by UAV.
  3. UAV Configuration Layouts including Airfoil Selection, Configuration and Platform Selection
    The logic and practility of selecting these basic parameters will be explained.
  4. Estimation of Service sealing, range, endurance, Static and Dynamic Stability
  5. Center of Gravity and weight balance parameter estimation specific to RC and UAV
    In this we will study the CG range, permissible CG shift in flight and weight distribution of payloads in a UAV to achieve CG. Effect of forward and rearward CG on stability.
  6. UAV 3D Modeling and Wind tunnel testing
    3D drawing generation of UAV using ANSIS or similar software. Visiting IIT Powai to see wind tunnel and understand it’s operation
  7. Data & Video Communication and it’s Security
    Various video and Data communication methods & equipment required. Methods of making data secure and safe during transmission.
  8. Navigation, Route Planning and Tracking
    This will cover route planning of UAV, route alteration en route and tracking method during a flight.
  9. Electric Propulsion Aspects
    This covers various BLDC motors used in UAVs, the ESC used to control speed, various batteries, battery charging, battery maintenance and precautions to be taken.
  10. UAV Camera and Payloads
    An overview of various cameras, Radars, and possible payloads normally integrated in a small UAV.
  11. UAV Accident and incident investigation/ Fact Finding.
  12. Simulator Flying
    Hands on training on a simulator on R/C and UAV flying, various effects of CG, weight, power, propeller and aerodynamics on UAV flying.
  13. Field training
    Here you will get an overview of how fixed wing and Multirotar UAVs are deployed in the field. How mission is executed. Field requirements necessary for safe flying and flying limitations.
  14. Construction
    An overview on how drones are constructed. Assembly and preflight and post flight checks of drones.
  15. UAV detection
    Various methods employed in UAV detection.
  16. UAV traffic management
    An introduction to possible UAV traffic management.

Case Study

 Case study of UAV systems we have actually designed and supplied to MoD including PRD, CDR, Design review by IIT, SOP, Flight records, variation of actual flight parameters Vs Design parameters, GCS, high altitude deployment etc.

  • This training program will be carried out at our factory in Ahmednagar, Maharashrea.
  • An effort will be made to show the wind tunnel in operation at IIT Mumbai.
  • 3D Modelling of UAV will be shown in Pune.
  • We will show you photographs and videos of all the UAVs and Targets we have been operating for the past 20 years.
  • We will show you photographs and videos of all the UAVs and Targets we have been operating for the past 20 years.
  • Learning to fly a UAV or Model airplane takes a very long time and complete flying is not included in this program. In the field trials you will just get a feel.
  • There will be extensive field trials. However they will be limited by weather conditions.
